Deidre Lindeque obtained her BSc in Human Biosciences and BSc (Med) Honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Cape Town. She worked at TARA Psychiatric Hospital (Eating Disorders Unit) and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (Paediatrics), before moving into the private sector.
Additional studies have included a Diploma in Sport’s Management, Diploma in Functional Medicine (IFM, USA) and Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes (University of South Wales, UK). Deidre is also a Certified Lactation Consultants (SACLC, Wits).
As a keen academic and ‘eternal student’ Deidre enjoys the challenges of managing critically ill hospital patients with complex medical conditions. Outside of the hospital wards, in broad terms her passion lies in family health. Particular interests include nutritional management across the life stages, diabetes management and the management of eating disorders. Deidre is also passionate about nutritional management through infertility, pregnancy and lactation; infant feeding, ADD/ADHD and autism-spectrum disorders. As a mom of a toddler and an infant she loves supporting and assisting moms and families in optimizing nutrition from birth to set a solid foundation for future health, both physically and emotionally.
